What you need
You need a CS2 demo file, usually ending in .dem, and a modern desktop or mobile browser. CS2 Browser Lab runs online, so there is no separate demo client to install. If authentication is enabled, sign in with Steam so uploaded demos, replay access and subscription status can be linked to your account.
The app is built for real match review rather than a flat video. You can scrub the round timeline, follow players, switch into POV, open free camera, inspect utility and use the match review panel.
Step-by-step setup
- Open CS2 Browser Lab.
- Select Demos. This is the match list and upload area.
- Upload a CS2
.demfile, or use a sample if one is available. - Wait for parsing to finish. Large demos can take longer because player snapshots, events, grenades and replay moments are indexed.
- Open the demo and use the timeline, camera selector, scoreboard and review panel to navigate the match.
What to review first
Start with round losses, deaths after first contact, failed retakes and utility that did not create space. In the browser lab you can pause before the mistake, switch POV, then move free camera to see what the player could not see.
After the passive review, open Replay moments. Those turn deaths into focused clips and playable practice scenarios, which is usually more useful than watching the same VOD repeatedly.
When PRO is worth it
PRO makes sense when you review often or want practice, not just playback. It unlocks unlimited uploads, every replay moment, standalone maps, walk mode, x-ray, screenshots, share links and future advanced tools.
